It’s been 3 months since I graduate. Well I got lucky, just a week after my graduation i got an internship offer at a Public Relations Agency. It’s not big, it’s not fancy, I don’t even trained to be in it, and yeah for some people my salary would be classified as low.
I take it anyway. Because I realize that small paycheck is better than no paycheck at all, and do stuff I have no idea how to do is better than not doing anything at all.
I have a dream job, by the way. Someday, my goal is to be a film maker. Quite impossible though, knowing that I have no basic in cinematography and I know no one in the industry. So I need to have a good strategy.
Not sure if I got one already, but my plan is to get as much experience as I can, get to know as many people as I can meet, and pay attention for any possibility or any turn to get me one step closer to my dream job. Hopefully this plan works, coz I got no other plan.
So I’ve been working at the agency for about 3 months now. I still don’t know if the job fits me, and whether or not it could take me one step closer to my goal. As far as I’m concerned, I do earn more experience, I do meet new people, and it does take me somewhere (only God knows where).
Along the way, I learned. And I’m still learning. Three months ago I had zero knowledge about this industry. But by letting mistakes happen, I now know more.
Wow, this post is longer than I expected. Well my point is; don’t lose hope because you think your dream job is too high. Don’t stress because you think your actual job is too low. And whatever you decide to do, always bear in mind one giant goal you’re trying to achieve.
Because I believe, no job is too high or too low. They’re just a start and finish line you set on your own.
Have a good day!
